Questions

Good to know

How is the price set?

Hosts set their own rate per kWh, so you'll see a range across the map. You pay only for the energy delivered plus a small flat service fee — shown in full before you book. There are no idle fees or minimums.

What if my connector doesn't fit?

Save your vehicle's connector — J1772, CCS, NACS or Tesla — and the map only shows chargers you can use. Many hosts also keep common adapters on hand and note it on their listing.

Is it safe to charge at a stranger’s home?

Every member is ID-verified, the exact address stays hidden until you book, and two-way reviews keep the community accountable. Each session is also backed by $5M in liability and property coverage.

How much can I earn as a host?

It depends on your rate and how many hours you open up, but active hosts in busy areas commonly earn $150–$600 a month. You keep the majority of every session; VoltShare takes a small platform fee. Payouts arrive weekly by direct deposit.

Do I need a special charger to host?

Any Level 2 home charger works. During setup we walk you through connecting it, setting your hours, and pricing — most hosts are live within a day.
