Popular questions

A few of the things people ask most often.

What is VoltShare?

VoltShare is a peer-to-peer marketplace for home EV charging. Hosts open up their home Level 2 charger during hours that suit them, and nearby drivers book a session and pay only for the energy they use. It puts existing neighborhood chargers to work instead of waiting on new public infrastructure.

How do I search for a charger?

Use the map to browse chargers around any location. Filter by connector type, charging speed, price per kWh and availability so you only see stations that match your car and your timing.

Do I need a special charger to host?

Any Level 2 home charger works. During setup we walk you through connecting it, setting your hours, and pricing — most hosts are live within a day.

How is the price set?

Hosts set their own rate per kWh, so you'll see a range across the map. You pay only for the energy delivered plus a small flat service fee — shown in full before you book. There are no idle fees or minimums.

Is it safe to charge at a stranger’s home?

Every member is ID-verified, the exact address stays hidden until you book, and two-way reviews keep the community accountable.
